Show rules of Burbank Art Association
Eligibility: Only members who are in good standing may participate in B.A.A. exhibits. Dues must be paid for fiscal year September 1 through August 31. Dues may be paid when entering the show.
Shows: There will be a Fall show and Spring. One to two judges will be used at each show. Dates, times, locations and whenever available, judge will be announced in the newsletter.
Entries: A maximum entry of three pieces, paintings and/or sculptures, as gallery space allows, unless otherwise advised.
Sizes: Spring and Fall shows, maximum height or width is 36" excluding frame. One extra large painting (over 36" but not exceeding 48" in height or width), may be substituted for two smaller paintings.
Size limitations in Creative Art Center, due to space.
Burbank Art Association had their own art gallery for almost 2 1/2 years at the Burbank Media Mall in Burbank California. We participated in art shows, special exhibits and our membership grew. We hope to have a gallery again in the future.
Original work: Entries must be the artist's original work. A copy of another's painting, drawing, photograph or published material and laser prints are not acceptable for B.A.A. Exhbit, if in violation can be disqualified. Cannot re-enter a painting previously shown in a B.A.A. show.
General: All entries must be properly framed and wired for hanging. Saw tooth hangers will not be accepted. Screw eyes must be placed 1/3 of the distance down from the top of the painting with wire not tight. All paints dry. Glass or plexiglas must protect entries on paper, for safety reasons please frame large paintings with Plexiglas. All entries even those sold during the exhibit, must remain for the duration of the exhibit. A 10% commision to BAA will be collected on any sales made during a B.A.A. exhibition.
The exhibit committee reserves the right to determine the placement, suitability or exclusion of any entry. No work may be removed for the duration of the show with out exhibit chairmans permission.
