Joanne pursued a sucessful career in business, and worked independently, developing her own style and exploring various oil painting classes and workshops.
Upon retirement she set up her studio and began to paint for the sheer joy of capturing form and color. She is a active member of Burbank Art Association, on the board and is the Program Chairman.

Joanne Weckbacher
Joanne Weckbacker is a Southern Californian drawn to the brilliant colors of the landscapes and gardens she sees every day. Her favorite artist is the prominent landscape artist of the ninteenth century, Frederic Edwin Church. He is known for his brilliant sunsets and large-sale panoramic landscapes.
Joanne's first teacher, starting at age six was her grandmother. She was a member of the Glendale Art Association in California. Her grandmothers oil paintings and watercolors hang on Joanne's walls in Burbank today.
