Rene studied art at Valley College, C-Sun and at U.C.L.A. in So. California. He took workshops and classes under Paule Martin, Tom Lynch, Tony Provenzano and Chet Collom. He was inspired by Master Artist Robert Henri, Cezanne, Soutine, Van Gogh, and Modigliani.
Rene works in most mediums. His paintings have won awards in a number of exhibitions. He is an active member of Burbank Art Association and has served on the board.
